The new motorway extension connects the town to Auckland in just over 30 minutes in off-peak traffic, unlocking access and value, setting Warkworth up to experience dynamic growth. The town centre is gentrifying and improving quickly, coming alive with activity, while providing critical services like supermarkets, petrol stations, medical services, and pharmacies.

Leigh

Just 21KM up the road from your home at Hudson lies Leigh, another perfect little slice of New Zealand. Leigh offers access to wildlife, fishing, coastal walks and bushland, kayaking, surfing, and more. Or you could just sit and savour the flavour of a locally brewed beer with friends and family at the new Smoko Room, or enjoy a pizza at the Leigh Sawmill Cafe.

Matakana Valley

Just a short drive away from your home at Hudson you’ll find Matakana, filled with cafes, restaurants, boutiques, and galleries. Indulge your inner gourmand and meet the artisanal makers at one of the country’s most famous Farmers’ Markets, who have stories to tell about everything from the weather to the provenance of their products.

Goat Island

Goat Island is a marine reserve and outstanding national treasure. Crystal-clear waters, teeming with life, swimming, snorkelling, or diving here is to understand what our marine environment looked like 500 years ago. If you love the water, this experience is truly unmissable.

Pakiri

Take the rugged road out to Pakiri Beach. White sands that stretch away to the distance, bordered by pine forest and rolling dunes, Pakiri is one of those places that makes you remember why we call New Zealand “God’s Own Country.”

Mahurangi East

Mahurangi East is the narrow peninsula located between the Mahurangi Harbour and Kawau Bay, 10 minutes from Warkworth. Mahurangi East consists of Snells Beach, Algies Bay, Martins Bay and Scotts Landing. Enjoy coastal walks and loop tracks at Scandretts Regional Park nestled between Martins Bay and Algies Bay. It’s a boating paradise with boat ramps in every bay along this stretch of Kawau Bay with crystal clear waters and Pohutukawa lined safe swimming beaches.

Omaha

Omaha Beach is the quintessential East Coast experience of white sands, blue waters, and bliss. Right on the doorstep of Matakana wine country, Omaha provides access to 15 vineyards within just 15 minutes drive. With boat-launching facilities and a protected all-weather harbour, from waterskiing to windsurfing, your next water adventure starts here.

Te Arai Links

Te Arai Links is comprised of not one, but two of New Zealand’s finest golf courses. Just 30 minutes up the road from Hudson, and considered “pure-links” golfing, they are artfully nestled among the undulating Eastern coastal landscape. Perspectives here of the sea and Hauraki Gulf beyond are overwhelmingly beautiful. Hopefully you can stay on your game!

Sandspit

Also just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Hudson village, you’ll find Sandspit. From here, ferries run several times a day to Kawau Island. Just adjacent, Brick Bay has a gorgeous 2KM sculpture trail, wending through native bush, fields, and alongside the water.
